Count on Ten Frames - Up to 10

Learn to count using special boxes that help us see numbers clearly!

What is a Ten Frame?

Ten frames are special boxes that help us count and understand numbers up to 10!
A ten frame has two rows with five boxes each - that makes 10 boxes total! We can fill the boxes to show different numbers. This helps our brains see how numbers work together.

How to Use a Ten Frame

1️⃣ Look at all the empty boxes (there are 10!)

2️⃣ Count as you fill the boxes one by one

3️⃣ Say the number when you stop filling boxes

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Make it real: Use small objects like buttons or cereal to fill real ten frames you draw on paper.
  • Play games: Say a number and have your child show it on the ten frame as fast as they can.
  • Ask questions: "How many more to make 10?" helps children see number relationships.
